Each week, I’ll use this space to make 3 DFS pick ’em predictions for the upcoming slate. I’ve surveyed DFS apps like PrizePicks, Underdog and more for the best values on the board.
College football DFS picks Week 3
Let’s break down a few DFS predictions for Week 3. This week, all picks comes via Underdog:
Wayne Knight higher than 92.5 rush yards
If you’re not a James Madison or UCLA fan, you may not know who Wayne Knight is yet. After rushing for over 1,300 yards at JMU last season, Knight followed Bob Chesney to UCLA and is averaging 8 yards per carry so far for the Bruins. He’s 3rd nationally in EPA-per-rush and has already scored 6 rushing touchdowns this season in games against San Diego State and Cal — not awful opposition relative to what most of the country has faced so far in 2026. I’ll also note that UCLA’s offensive line has been dominant (0% stuff rate) and will this week face a Purdue defense that ranks in the 10th percentile in rushing EPA allowed this season.

Bryant Wesco lower than 54.5 receiving yards
Clemson’s offense is a mess. That’s been true regardless of whether it’s Christopher Vizzina or Tait Reynolds at quarterback. Reynolds is set to get the start this week against a North Carolina defense that’s been more than competent to start the 2026 season. I’m taking the low side of Wesco’s projection for a couple of reasons. One, Reynolds has a negative completion percentage over expected and an alarmingly high sack rate — both common for young quarterbacks, but still concerning in this matchup. Two, Wesco individually has been underwhelming this season with a 62% catch rate and a 39% targeted success rate. He’s also only averaging 1 yard after catch per reception. I trust UNC’s secondary to keep him below this number.
Malachi Toney lower than 104.5 receiving yards
Malachi Toney has been ridiculous so far this season. He’s catching over 94% of his targets with an ADOT of 13. He’s also running an 82% targeted success rate. These numbers, in my view, are largely unsustainable, even for a player as good as Toney is. I think we’re due to see some natural regression and I think this week is a pretty good candidate for it. Wake Forest coach Jake Dickert should be able to put together the best plan for Toney and Darian Mensah that Miami has had to face so far this season.
