Our Week 5 CFB Picks

Andrew Olson

KJ Jefferson, UCF QB: Higher than 251.5 pass+rush yards

I went with the combo here because Colorado’s defense has been solid against the pass the last 3 outings. Containing a veteran Jefferson, though, should present more of a challenge than slowing Nebraska, Colorado State and Baylor.

Isaiah Bond, Texas WR: Higher than 0.5 rush+receiving TDs

Bond is one of the fastest players in college football and impressing at Texas with 15 catches for 290 yards and 3 touchdowns this season. Those 3 scores are spread out over 4 games. After not finding the end zone last week, I like him to get TD No. 4 against a weak Mississippi State defense.

Le’Veon Moss, Texas A&M RB: Higher than 77.5 rush yards

Moss enters the Southwest Classic averaging over 94 rushing yards per game (284 in 3 contests). Facing an Arkansas squad that ranks high in rushing defense, Moss may see his average dip, but I still like him to get to 78.

Adam Spencer

Will Howard, Ohio State QB: Higher than 252.5 pass yards

Ohio State’s nonconference slate left much to be desired, to say the least. Howard has been… fine… through wins over Akron, Western Michigan and Marshall. But now the real games start for the Buckeyes. I like him to step up to the challenge and throw for 253 or more yards against Michigan State.

Trevor Etienne, Georgia RB: Lower than 91.5 rush+receiving yards

Etienne had 90 rush+receiving yards against Kentucky and only 92 against Tennessee Tech. Basically, he’s danced around this number in both games he’s played this year. But he hasn’t faced a defense like Alabama’s yet. Kentucky’s is good, but Alabama’s is really strong. I’ll take him to finish with 91 or fewer total yards of offense on Saturday night in a tough road environment.

Garrett Nussmeier, LSU QB: Higher than 320.5 pass yards

I can’t quit Nussmeier. I love him in this spot. A guy who I feel should be getting more Heisman buzz gets to face a South Alabama team that scored 87 points a couple of weeks ago? Yeah, Saturday night’s game at Death Valley could end up being a track meet, y’all. So give me the LSU QB to throw for 321+ yards against the Jaguars.

Our Week 4 NFL Picks

Andrew Olson

Saquon Barkley, Philadelphia Eagles RB: Higher than 0.5 rush+receiving TDs

Barkley is off to a hot start. Tampa Bay’s rushing defense, meanwhile, is hot garbage. RB1 in fantasy should deliver a touchdown this week.

Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers QB: Higher than 232.5 pass yards

The Patriots are one of the NFL’s lower-ranked passing defenses, allowing 244.3 yards per game (No. 27). The injury bug has done a number on the San Francisco offense, but this line is too good to pass up after Purdy’s big game in Week 3.

Adam Spencer

Sam Darnold, Minnesota Vikings QB: Higher than 226.5 pass yards

The Packers’ defense has gone up against Jalen Hurts, Anthony Richardson and Will Levis so far this year. Not exactly a murder’s row of elite passers, as evidenced by the fact that Green Bay has already matched its interception total from all of last season. Darnold will find some holes in the defense (most likely exposed by star WR Justin Jefferson) and, win or lose, should be good for at least 227 yards through the air.

Kyren Williams, Los Angeles Rams RB: Higher than 96.5 rush+receiving yards

Simply put, who else is going to rack up yards for the Rams? This team is a walking MASH unit. Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua are out. Williams is the lone star left on the offense outside of QB Matthew Stafford. I like him to get a ton of work against Da Bears on Sunday, easily eclipsing 97+ yards of total offense.
