Our Week 11 CFB Picks

Andrew Olson

Dylan Sampson, Tennessee RB: Higher than 122.5 rush yards

It’s a high bar to clear, but that hasn’t been a problem for Sampson this season. His last 2 outings have been for 139 and 142 yards on the ground. This week, he gets to face Mississippi State, the SEC’s worst rushing defense against conference opponents.

Xavier Restrepo, Miami WR: Higher than 88.5 receiving yards

Miami plays Georgia Tech, a passing defense with solid stats. But few ACC passing attacks compare to Cam Ward and company. Even with the rare off game, Miami’s receiving king is still averaging 95.1 yards per contest. Ward and Restrepo will make sure this game with the Yellow Jackets doesn’t go down to the wire.

Germie Bernard, Alabama WR: Higher than 57.5 receiving yards

Bernard’s average for the season is 57.9 per game, and that’s with 17 yards in Week 1 and 25 against Georgia. Since the Georgia game, Bernard has been good for 70 yards or better, home or away, in every October game. In a hostile environment, I like Jalen Milroe to look for his veteran playmaker.

Adam Spencer

Carson Beck, Georgia QB: Higher than 264.5 pass yards

I’m going with a theme this year, taking 3 big-name QBs to surpass their passing yards total. I’ll start with Georgia’s Carson Beck. Against Ole Miss’s tough defense, and with RB Trevor Etienne potentially limited by a rib injury, Beck should have to throw a lot. As long as he can keep the mistakes in check, he should reach this number pretty easily.

Dillon Gabriel, Oregon QB: Higher than 286.5 pass yards

Gabriel is making a push for the Heisman. Oregon remains unbeaten. I expect him to have a big-time showing against Maryland on Saturday night. Even if this turns into a blowout, it’ll be because Gabriel has 300+ pass yards.

Garrett Nussmeier, LSU QB: Higher 288.5 pass yards

Nussmeier is my go-to QB this year. Even in a loss at Texas A&M 2 weeks ago, he threw for 405 yards. At home at night against Alabama, this is a big-time spot for the first-year LSU starter. I think he’ll be good for more than 300 yards through the air, so this number seems a bit low to me.

Our Week 10 NFL Picks

Andrew Olson

Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers QB: Higher than 253.5 pass yards

Last time out, Purdy had a solid showing in San Francisco’s win over Dallas. Now, coming off a bye, he gets a favorable matchup against a suspect Tampa Bay secondary. The yardage feels attainable.

Dalton Kincaid, Buffalo Bills TE: Higher than 44.5 receiving yards

Kincaid has not put up the numbers many of his fantasy owners have hoped for, but this might be the week for a breakout game. After a 10-target game against Miami, he gets to face an Indianapolis defense that has struggled to contain tight ends in recent weeks.

Adam Spencer

Malik Nabers, New York Giants WR: Higher than 75.5 receiving yards

This game is in Germany, where the Giants get to play the atrocious Carolina Panthers. Even though the Panthers just pulled off a win over the Saints last week, this is not a good team. Look for Daniel Jones to get the ball to his rookie receiver early and often.

Sam Darnold, Minnesota Vikings QB: Higher than 245.5 pass yards

Darnold has been up and down lately, but the Jaguars’ defense continues to be porous against opposing quarterbacks. With Justin Jefferson healthy, Darnold should be able to put up big-time numbers in this matchup, throwing for 250+ yards.
