Our Week 9 CFB Picks
Andrew Olson
Jacurri Brown, UCF QB: Lower than 126.5 pass yards
Passing has always been the knock on Brown. He has logged 20 attempts in each of his 2 starts, throwing for 207 yards against Cincinnati and just 62 yards against Iowa State. BYU just gave up 7.27 yards per carry to Oklahoma State. I expect Gus Malzahn and the Knights to lean on the ground game against the Cougars and not rely on Brown throwing the ball.
Diego Pavia, Vanderbilt QB: Higher than 37.5 rush yards
Texas might not be the No. 1 team any more, but it’s safe to say Pavia and the Commodores will still be turnt to host the Longhorns in a ranked SEC showdown no one saw coming. Outside of the Georgia game, Texas has been strong defending the run, but this is Diego Pavia we’re talking about. His season low running the ball is 40 yards and we all know he’s going to give everything he’s got and then some against Texas.
Xavier Restrepo, Miami WR: Higher than 88.5 receiving yards
Yes, it’s a high bar to clear. Yes, Restrepo is probably due to cool down from his average of 98 yards per game. But — and fit for the beaches of Miami, it’s a big butt — UM is looking to beat the dog crap out of FSU for the embarrassing 45-3 loss 2 years ago. I expect Restrepo to feast in a blowout.

Jeremiah Smith, Ohio State WR: Higher than 4.5 receptions
Smith is coming off a game where he had 9 catches for 100 yards against Oregon. I don’t think Nebraska is going to fare any better against the star freshman. Look for Smith to have 5+ catches fairly easily in this matchup.
Jalen Milroe, Alabama QB: Higher than 1.5 pass TDs
Milroe and the Tide desperately need to get their acts together if they want to salvage this season. They’ll face a tough Mizzou defense this weekend, but that defense has shown some vulnerabilities at times. I expect Milroe and WR Ryan Williams to have big afternoons, which will lead to the star QB putting up 2 or more TD passes.
Garrett Nussmeier, LSU QB: Higher than 281.5 pass yards
Much like Andrew can’t quit Xavier Restrepo picks, I can’t quit Garrett Nussmeier. Yes, Texas A&M has a stout defense, but that just means Nussmeier should throw for like 300 yards instead of closer to 400 yards. He only had 233 pass yards last week in Arkansas, but I think that was more due to the fact that the game wasn’t close after the first quarter. He should be throwing for 4-straight quarters on Saturday night in College Station.
Our Week 8 NFL Picks
Andrew Olson
Davante Adams, New York Jets WR: Higher than 57.5 receiving yards
Adams is overdue for the type of game fantasy owners expected weekly when they drafted him. He should be settled in more for Game 2 with old pal Aaron Rodgers. The Patriots don’t give up many passing TDs, but there should be plenty of opportunities for Adams to log receiving yards.
Joe Mixon, Houston Texans RB: Higher than 76.5 rush yards
Mixon has returned in a big way with back-to-back games of 100+ rushing yards. He might not crack triple digits again, but 77 feels very obtainable against the Colts, a team he gashed for 159 yards in Week 1.
Adam Spencer
Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers QB: Higher than 259.5 pass yards
The Jaguars have struggled to stop the pass this year. Meanwhile, it seems Love and the Green Bay offense are hitting their stride as we approach the midway point of the NFL season. I’ll take Love to throw early and often and put up some big numbers in Jacksonville on Sunday afternoon.
Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens QB: Higher than 1.5 pass TDs
Jackson just put up 5 pass TDs against Tampa Bay on Monday night. You’re telling me he can’t throw for 2 more against a Cleveland team that’s a dumpster fire right now? (And that might be an insult to dumpster fires.) The Browns’ defense hasn’t been great this year. Jackson could have yet another field day.
