Dick Vitale has been paying attention to the news coming out this week from a court hearing involving the fatal shooting of Jamea Harris in January.
Former Alabama basketball player Darius Miles and Michael Davis are being held on capital murder charges, with Davis alleged to have pulled the trigger.
Alabama freshman Brandon Miller was also allegedly present at the scene, having allegedly brought the firearm to Miles, who then gave it to Davis.
Vitale, an ESPN commentator, called out Nate Oats’ comments about the incident and also questioned how Miller could be allowed to continue playing:
I was SHOCKED by the comments of @AlabamaMBB Nate Oats yesterday but I am doubly SHOCKED that superstar Brandon MIller is scheduled to play tonight.Isn’t providing a gun to a teammate that was used in a murder a serious offense?

Alabama plays at South Carolina on Wednesday night. Thus far, there’s no indication Miller won’t suit up for that game.
Brandon Miller’s attorney released a statement on Wednesday further explaining his client’s actions on the night in question:
