Diddy, aka Sean Combs, recently made a massive donation to Jackson State University.

The rapper and music executive traveled to Jackson for the Tigers’ season-opener against South Carolina State. Diddy donated $1 million to the JSU Development Foundation, Inc. as a way to show appreciation and support to HBCUs.

Combs originally pledged this donation to the team during an acceptance speech at the 2022 BET Awards. The businessman reiterated that he would still be donating the money even after coach Deion Sanders left for Colorado.

“If it wasn’t for HBCUs I wouldn’t be here. … Supporting HBCUs isn’t just my honor, it’s my responsibility,” explained Combs. Combs attended Howard University, another HBCU, before making it in the music industry.

Jackson State went out and won the opener by a score of 37-7.
