Disconcerting signals: Fans, media react to slew of penalty calls in LSU-Mizzou game
By Adam Spencer
Published:
Disconcerting signals are penalties where the officials believe players on the defense are trying to simulate a snap count or hand signal for the offense.
Fans watching the Mizzou-LSU game on Saturday afternoon have certainly seen their fair share of that call today.
Early in the fourth quarter, it was a penalty that had already been called 3 times by the officials working the game.
Naturally, that spurred plenty of reaction on social media. You can see some of the messages sent by media members and college football fans reacting to the calls:

It’s October, which means it is spooky season. Clearly the SEC officials working the LSU-Mizzou game are disconcerted.
Will we see this call happen more often around the SEC today? There are still some big games left on the Week 6 slate around the league, including Alabama-Texas A&M and Kentucky-Georgia. Let’s all try to stay concerted out there, folks!
