As South Carolina looks for a new head coach to replace the outgoing Will Muschamp, it is clear there are a few tensions between current and former South Carolina players.

New Orleans Saints safety and former South Carolina star D.J. Swearinger shot back at sophomore defensive back Israel Mukuamu on Twitter on Wednesday after Mukuamu posted this tweet that he has since deleted.

Swearinger took exception to what he perceived as a jab at his era of South Carolina players.

Swearinger played under Steve Spurrier from 2009 to 2012.

Here is what the former standout Gamecock fired back with after seeing Mukuamu’s comment:

Swearinger also took a shot at Mukuamu’s decision to opt-out this season, and the sophomore fired right back.

When is the last time you saw two players from the same program arguing about the fact that neither of them won a championship?

Tensions are high in Columbia, South Carolina.
