Drew Lock sets Mizzou record with 6 TD passes, earns praise from Chase Daniel

Ideally, Mizzou junior QB Drew Lock wouldn’t have had to play in the second half against Missouri State in Saturday’s Week 1 matchup against the FCS foe.

However, thanks to a porous defense, Lock needed to play most of the game. And, while he was playing, he put up some huge numbers.

With his sixth touchdown pass (which came in the third quarter), Lock set a school record for touchdowns in a single game, breaking Mizzou legend Chase Daniel’s record.

Daniel, now a backup quarterback for the New Orleans Saints, was quick to offer his congratulations to the school’s new record holder:

Heading into the fourth quarter, the Tigers only hold a 58-43 advantage over the Bears, so Lock’s big day may not be done just yet.

If the Bears keep scoring on Mizzou’s porous defense, Lock may need to throw another touchdown or two to seal the victory.
