Dusty Dvoracek named his most dominant defenders for Week 13 of the 2024 college football season, which included three SEC players.
Those names within the conference were Florida’s Caleb Banks, Oklahoma’s R Mason Thomas and Texas’ Anthony Hill Jr. Outside of the conference on the list were Ohio State’s Cody Simon and Boston College’s Donovan Ezeiruaku.
Banks, who came in at the top spot, was a major force in the Gators’ 24-17 win over a now No. 14-ranked Ole Miss team. He tallied four combined tackles, 3 of which were solo, also leading the team in sacks with a total of 2.5 takedowns as one of the team’s biggest defensive leaders in the victory.
Thomas was also a key element in Oklahoma’s shocking 24-3 victory over the No. 13 Alabama Crimson Tide. He was responsible for 3 combined tackles, 1 of which was solo, with 1 sack on Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Milroe.
Hill helped Kentucky to breeze past Kentucky, 31-14 when he last took the field, totaling some 11 combined tackles, 7 of which were solo. He also had 2 sacks and finished the victory as the team’s overall defensive leader.
It will be interesting to see who makes the list next week with just one game left in the regular season and a lot on the line for several teams across the nation.
The Florida Gators pulled off their 2nd big upset in a row when they defeated Ole Miss.
@GatorsFBdefense shined and were led by a huge game from @Cbanks22_ which earned him the title of @DustyDvoracek‘s Most Dominant Defender!
