Dylan Lonergan, Alabama QB transfer, reportedly planning visit to Georgia
Dylan Lonergan is set to take a recruiting visit to Georgia this week, according to a report.
That news comes via ESPN’s Max Olson, who notes the Bulldogs are exploring options in the QB market in anticipation of Carson Beck turning pro following the 2024 campaign.
Lonergan spent 2 seasons at Alabama before entering the transfer portal earlier this month. He was a 4-star prospect out of Snellville, Georgia, in the class of 2023. He was ranked as the No. 159 overall player and the No. 13 quarterback for the 2023 recruiting cycle, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
Lonergan has only seen playing time on a couple of occasions during his Alabama career. He’s 7-of-8 for 35 yards, 0 touchdowns and 0 interceptions in 2 seasons with the Tide. He also has 2 carries for 21 total yards.
Georgia does have a couple of internal options to compete for the starting job next season. Gunner Stockton, who replaced an injured Beck in the SEC Championship Game, is eligible to return in 2025. Former Arizona State quarterback and ex-Florida signee Jaden Rashada could also be in the mix.
