EA Sports announced players who appear in College Football 26 will receive increased payments for their participation in the game compared to College Football 25 payouts.

Last year, players who allowed EA Sports to use their name, image and likeness for the game received $600 (in addition to a few other benefits). But this year, following the commercial success of College football 25, those payments will balloon to $1,500 per player, the game manufacturer says.

Players will also receive a Deluxe Edition copy of the game:

College Football 25 was a huge success for EA Sports. According to InsiderGaming, College Football 25 was the highest-selling video game in the United States in 2024 and is the best-selling sports video game of all time by total dollars. With that in mind, it wasn’t a surprise when EA Sports announced their would be a new iteration of the game in the summer of 2025.

Per The Athletic, more than 11,000 players were compensated for their name, image and likeness in College Football 25.

Details for the new game have not yet been announced, although a cover photo featuring several top college football players and coaches recently leaked. Florida quarterback DJ Lagway and Alabama receiver Ryan Williams were amongst those who appeared on the (still unconfirmed) cover.

College Football 25 was EA Sports’ first college sports title since 2013. A release date for College Football 26 will be announced at a later time.
