Georgia freshmen Julian Rochester and Chad Clay were arrested early Tuesday morning by Athens-Clarke County law enforcement, according to a report from The Macon Telegraph’s Jason Butt.
Rochester and Clay each are charged with two felony counts at 12:13 a.m. local time, one involving possession of a weapon in a school zone and the other with criminal damage.
The weapons in question have been reported to potentially be BB guns.

At the time of the story, both players were still incarcerated, per the Athens-Clark County police records.
The weapons charge has been reported to be given the disposition of “no bond,” while the criminal damage bond is set at $5,000 each.
Butt reached Georgia coach Kirby Smart for comment on the situation:
“I’m disappointed with the poor judgment of Julian and Chad,” head coach Kirby Smart said. “We expect full compliance with the policies of the University and of our football program from all our student-athletes.
“Information is still being gathered but they will be disciplined in an appropriate manner.”
Rochester, a defensive lineman, is expected to make an immediate contribution to the Bulldogs program this fall after enrolling in January.
Clay, a defensive back, also enrolled in January and is believed to be Rochester’s roommate.
