LSU is dealing with a few key injuries on offense, but no one has been officially ruled out of the National Championship Game as of yet.
Tigers head coach Ed Orgeron opened his post-game press conference Thursday with an injury update had had mostly positive news. Even guard Damien Lewis, who was seen in a walking boot after the Peach Bowl, could play against Clemson in the biggest game of the year.
Orgeron said that wide receiver Terrace Marshall — although he’s not practicing — should be alright, and that running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire practiced without any limitations Thursday.
“It’s going to be a couple days before Terrace Marshall practices. I think he’s going to be ok. He should be ok by the beginning of next week,” Orgeron said. “D Lou (Damien Lewis) is going to take a little while, but there’s a possibility that he will play, we’re not sure yet, we just have to play it by ear.
“Clyde (Edwards-Helaire) practiced today. No limitations. Ready to go.”
Lewis suffered an ankle injury in the first quarter against Oklahoma in the Peach Bowl. Lewis has started all 14 games for the Tigers. Marshall also exited the College Football Playoff semifinal matchup versus the Sooners.
Edwards-Helaire was limited in the semifinals because of a hamstring injury, but he’s apparently good to go.
Ed Orgeron gave injury updates at the start of his post-practice presser:
