All Eddie Lacy had to do to earn $55,000 bonus was weigh-in at under 255 pounds
Monday was a big day for Eddie Lacy as the recently signed running back is off to a good start in Seattle. After four seasons in Green Bay, the former Alabama bruising back landed a free agent contract with the Seahawks filled with opportunities to earn extra cash for making weight. The first of such weigh-ins was Monday.
With $55,000 on the line, all Lacy had to do was set foot on the scale at 255 pounds or less. According to his sports marketing management team, SportsTrust Advisors, Lacy met the goal and even came in two pounds under.
Eager to announce the good news, SportsTrust Advisors sent out the news to Twitter Monday:

Congratulations are certainly in order for Lacy but his challenges to keep his weight in check will get tougher as the calendar inches closer to football season. Here’s a breakdown of each weigh-in Lacy faces in the coming weeks and months. Should he be able to hit every mark, he’ll pocket an extra $385,000 this season.

June & August: 250 lbs

If Lacy can continue to keep his weight in check he could prove to be a great addition for the Seahawks. In his first two seasons in Green Bay, Lacy went over 1,100 rushing yards in each season and scored a combined 20 rushing touchdowns during that span. However, his final two seasons resulted in only 1,108 total rushing yards and three scores after struggling with injury and weight issues with the Packers.
