Eli Drinkwitz noted a unique approach for Georgia’s defense, one that could potentially give Missouri all sorts of trouble on Saturday.

At his press conference on Tuesday, Drinkwitz said Georgia’s defense has “many tools in their tool box,” noting the core’s ability to defend at any position.

“They have the ability to bracket, play as a whole or play in man (defense),” Drinkwitz said. “They play outside leverage and force you to think you can go inside.”

Drinkwitz mentioned the number of variations that the Bulldogs defense brings to the table.

Georgia’s defense has allowed just 14.8 points per game, an average passer rating of 107.0 and a 4.55 average in yards-per-play for total offense.

“They have the ability to normally defend the box runs with light personnel,” Drinkwitz said. “They don’t out-number you in the box.”

Drinkwitz noted that the Tigers offense’s ability “to throw the ball” has been created, allowing them to put together formations “against a run-stopping defense.”

The Bulldogs’ defense has allowed an average of 3.62 yards-per-carry.

“These guys (Georgia) don’t really care,” Drinkwitz said. “They let those big guys up front handle it.”

The top-ranked Bulldogs (8-0) face the No. 14 Tigers on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. on CBS.
