Eli Drinkwitz provides update on RB Tyler Badie after he left Saturday’s scrimmage

Missouri was without one of its best players on Wednesday as Tyler Badie was sidelined following a collision during practice on Saturday.

The absence was reported as just precautionary. Tiger fans had better hope so. The versatile running back is one of the better players on the roster — on and off the field.

Badie was named to 2 watch lists during the offseason: the Wuerffel Trophy for community service and the Paul Hornung Award for the most versatile player in college football.

As second-year Missouri head coach Eli Drinkwitz tries to improve off of a 5-5 season last year, Badie could play a primary role at running back.

During a press conference on Wednesday, Drinkwitz said Badie is being held out of practice for precautionary reasons, adding that an MRI revealed no structural damage:

What the injury is, exactly, has yet to be revealed.

Badie was named to the 2018 SEC All-Freshman team before splitting playing time with Larry Rountree III, who was the primary ball carrier for the last 3 seasons. Now, Rountree is with the NFL’s Los Angeles Chargers. Rountree’s departure should provide more opportunities for Bade as he enters his senior season.
