Tyler Badie is having a season to remember.
And on Tuesday when he met with members of the media, Missouri head coach Eli Drinkwitz said he’s probably the biggest reason why the Tigers sit just one win away from the program’s first bowl game since 2018.
Drinkwitz on Badie's value: "He’s been five wins valuable. I don’t know that we have five wins if it’s not for Tyler Badie."

“He’s been 5 wins valuable,” Drinkwitz said, per The Post-Dispatch’s Dave Matter. “I don’t know that we have 5 wins if it’s not for Tyler Badie.”
Missouri certainly hasn’t had an easy go of things in 2021. Texas A&M came over in a crossover game and quarterbacks have shuffled in and out of the lineup. But Badie has been a bright spot.
His 1,239 yards this season rank 4th nationally and most in the SEC. The 12 rushing scores are good for the 2nd-most among league runners. His most recent outing against South Carolina was Badie’s 4th game this season with more than 200 rushing yards.
With two games still to play, the 5-foot-8 senior has already produced the 5th-best rushing campaign in program history and the best since 2005. He’s on pace for the 2nd-best rushing season in Missouri history and within striking distance of Devin West’s 1,578-yard record-setting 1998 season.
Missouri plays Florida at 4 p.m. ET on Saturday and at Arkansas on Nov. 26 to close out the regular season.
