As Mizzou football moves on from spring practice and inches closer to the 2025 season, all eyes are on the quarterback position.
Long-time starter Brady Cook left big shoes to fill in Columbia. Eli Drinkwitz and the Tigers entered spring with multiple candidates to be the new QB1. The first domino fell with Drew Pyne’s decision to enter the transfer portal and continue his career at Bowling Green.

On Tuesday, Drinkwitz shared the latest. As expected, Sam Horn and Beau Pribula have separated themselves as the leading contenders for the job. Drinkwitz also praised Matt Zollers.
Eli Drinkwitz says the QB competition is between Sam Horn & Beau Pribula, although he’s been VERY impressed with where Matt Zollers is at.

Says Pribula may be a better passer than #Mizzou even anticipated.
Horn provided a lot of good back and forth in the competition, after…
A former teammate of Travis Hunter, Horn was a highly touted prospect in the 2022 recruiting class. A pitcher for the MU baseball team, Horn had Tommy John surgery after a February 2024 injury, sidelining him for the rest of the year. Due to injury and place on the depth chart, Horn has seen little regular-season football action for the Tigers.
Beau Pribula transferred in from Penn State. He memorably left the Nittany Lions during their College Football Playoff due to the timing of the transfer portal. Pribula played in 24 games for PSU, rushing for 10 touchdowns and throwing for 9 TDs with 1 interception.
