No. 12 Missouri is coming off a tough 30-21 loss to No. 2 Georgia on Saturday.

Eli Drinkwitz noted at his press conference on Tuesday that while the team is “disappointed with the outcome” against the Bulldogs on Saturday, it’s time to focus on preparing for No. 17 Tennessee this weekend.

“We have to shake off the emotions of it and move forward,” Drinkwitz said.

Drinkwitz mentioned that whether the Tigers win or lose, 1-0 is the mindset.

“1-0 is a mentality and lifestyle we live by. We know we have to refocus. In this league, there’s no weeks off,” Drinkwitz said. “You stack the wins and losses when you get them. At the end of the season, you look back and see where you’re at.”

At 7-2 and with 3 games left in the regular season, Mizzou still has “a lot left to play for.”

“And we’re playing for each other,” Drinkwitz said. “We all spend so much time here, through offseason and season, invested in each other. We’re not stopping now.”

Drinkwitz noted that preparing for the Volunteers will make it a “great, difficult challenge” for the Tigers this week.

“There’s nothing to worry about other than being very technical and tactical on the things we can improve,” Drinkwitz said.

Saturday’s contest between the Tigers and Vols kicks off at 3:30 p.m.
