Eli Drinkwitz weighs in on Brady Cook’s mindset amid calls for QB change

It’s been an up-and-down season for Mizzou quarterback Brady Cook, who has had some high points but also some low ones with decision-making issues (something that is to be expected off young signal-callers as they develop).
But there’s no question that head coach Eli Drinkwitz has had Cook’s back every step of the way, with high praise for how he delivered in the 23-10 win over the South Carolina Gamecocks.
Cook completed 17-of-26 passes for 224 yards in that contest, also recording 1 rushing touchdown. But in the midst of some of the rougher showing he has had, some fans have called to see Sam Horn or for a quarterback change in general.
Drinkwitz spoke on that Tuesday.
“Brady’s displayed a lot of toughness, both mental and physical throughout the season and that’s a trait that everybody can get behind,” he said. “When you’re not performing the way everybody wants you to perform, everybody wants somebody else and somebody different.”
