Eli Manning is an Ole Miss legend. He still keeps a close eye on his alma mater, too.

So, it’s no surprise he’s a big fan of what Lane Kiffin is doing in Oxford. Kiffin led the Rebels to their first-ever 10-win regular season in 2021, and more big things are expected in 2022.

On the “Great Dane Nation” podcast with Morten Andersen this week, Manning weighed in on the Ole Miss coach:

“Yes, I think Lane has done a great job,” Manning said. “And obviously, you know, the relationship with Matt Corral and the development of him you know, he has been there a few years you know, wasn’t always playing great, kind of his first year there under Lane.

“But these last 2 years, (he has) played outstanding. Runs the ball, throws the ball. And so, yeah, I look forward to how he continues to do that with the other quarterbacks, and you kind of think of Lane and throwing the football and explosive, but the way they run the ball, they really run the ball, really, really well. (He has) a great mind for just being creative. And that you know, get your guys out in the open, and then their defense made big strides this year. So it’s been fun to watch. And obviously it was exciting to see him in the Sugar Bowl and get down there for some games.”

How many games will Kiffin and the Rebels win in 2022? Manning will be watching closely!
