Elijah Moore was thrilled to finally get in the end zone and contribute to the Jets’ massive win on Sunday over the Chicago Bears.
After a solid rookie season in which he collected 538 yards and 5 TDs, Moore had been less of a factor in the 2022 Jet offense. The receiver reportedly requested a trade before the deadline, but the team was not willing to trade him.
In the 1st game after the benching of QB Zach Wilson, Moore caught 2 passes for 64 yards and 1 TD. After the game, Moore was asked what it meant to get his 1st TD of the season.
“It means everything, ya know? Once you get in the endzone, everybody tells you they (touchdowns) start flowing,” said Moore. “I’m just thankful I was able to help put some points on the board.”
