Bad news and Alabama recruiting haven’t been in the same sentence that often recently, but the Crimson Tide’s 2017 class took a hit on Thursday.
Jake Fromm, the No. 4 pro-style QB in the class, has flipped his commitment to Georgia.
Fromm had been pledged to the Crimson Tide since October 2015. He announced his decision on Twitter.

The 6-foot-3, 220-pound prospect from Warner Robins, Ga., took an unreported visit with his family to Athens last week. Apparently, that’s what swayed him to the school he rooted for growing up.
“I went up last Thursday, and I really enjoyed it, “ Fromm told 247Sports. “We told Alabama we were going and that is just what type of family we are. I just loved it up there, I loved the people, I loved Coach (Kirby) Smart. I love what is going on up there, the whole deal.”
Georgia offensive coordinator Jim Chaney was the leading recruiter for Fromm, who’s the sixth verbal commitment in the class for the Bulldogs.
