Elite UCLA commit Olaijah Griffin reportedly has Tennessee at the top of his list

There’s a new leader in the clubhouse for 2018 defensive back Olaijah Griffin.
Griffin apparently recently told recruiting insider and ScoopDuck.com publisher Justin Hopkins — who previously worked with 247Sports and ESPN — that Tennessee is his current leader.
“Tennessee is recruiting me the hardest,” Griffin reportedly said. “They are at the top of my list right now. I have family over there, that’s where we’re originally from. I really like coach (Jeremy) Pruitt and what he is doing over there. I loved my official visit.”
Griffin, who is a high 4-star prospect out of Mission Viejo, Calif., was on UT’s campus in mid-December after Pruitt offered a week prior.
The Under Armour All-American is rated as the nation’s No. 4 cornerback and its No. 31 overall prospect, according to the 247Sports Composite.
Griffin is still listed as a UCLA commit by 247Sports. However, Hopkins said Griffin told him he has moved on from the Bruins.
If he ends up choosing the Volunteers, Griffin will likely be Tennessee’s top commit. He plans to take visits to USC, Michigan, Auburn and Florida in January, the ScoopDuck report noted.
Also, for what it’s worth, Griffin happens to be the son of rap legend Warren G.

Jesse Simonton of VolQuest also said that Tennessee is Griffin’s favorite — by far:

It certainly seems that UCLA soon won’t be a factor.
Here are some of Griffin’s highlights:
