Emmitt Smith celebrates getting to watch his son play in The Swamp

Emmitt Smith has headed to The Swamp for Saturday’s matchup between the Florida Gators and the Texas A&M Aggies.
This marks the first time he has returned to a Florida football game in five years since he appeared on College Gameday in 2019 as a guest picker for the showdown between the Gators and the Auburn Tigers back in 2019.
Smith, who is a former legend of the Gators, did not choose his Alma Mater to take the win over the Aggies. The former Gators rusher chose Texas A&M over Florida to win the game on SEC Nation.
The reasoning comes down to the fact his son, EJ Smith, is on the team with Aggies and that he can’t go against his own family in his pregame picks. Smith has seen action in one game this season, the 23-13 loss to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, carrying the ball 4 times for 24 yards.

Saturday’s contest against the Aggies marks a must-win game for the Gators as head coach Billy Napier looks to keep his job on the hot seat.
The two teams are currently tied at 0-0 nearly halfway through the first quarter in Gainesville.
