Eric Berry headlines Tennessee Athletics 2025 Hall of Fame class

Eric Berry is a Tennessee legend as the only Volunteer football player to be named a 2-time unanimous All-American (2008, ’09). Berry is set to add UT Hall of Famer to his long list of accolades.

Berry headlines the Tennessee Athletics 2025 Hall of Fame class of 8. He’ll be inducted alongside A.W. Davis (men’s basketball, posthumously), Jenny Connolly (women’s swimming & diving), Mike Masters (men’s swimming & diving). Lauryn McCalley (women’s swimming & diving), Lindsay Schutzler (softball), Mike Sposa (men’s golf) and Tony White (men’s basketball).

Berry played for the Vols from 2007-09. He departed Rocky Top as the SEC’s all-time leader in career interception return yards (494) and single-season interception return yards (265 in 2008). He finished his UT career with 245 tackles, 17.5 tackles for loss, 3 sacks, 14 interceptions, 31 passes defended, 2 forced fumbles and 4 fumble recoveries.

Berry’s college accolades include two-time first-team All-SEC (2008, ’09), SEC Defensive Player of the Year (2008) and Jim Thorpe Award winner (2009). He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2023.

After his 3 seasons at Tennessee, Berry had a standout career with the Kansas City Chiefs from 2010-18. He was a 3-time first-team All-Pro (2013, ’15, ’16) and 5-time Pro Bowl selection (2010, ’12, ’13, ’15, ’16). Berry made the NFL’s 2010s All-Decade Team and was the NFL Comeback Player of the Year in 2015, returning from lymphoma that cut his 2014 season short.
