Eric Musselman updates status of 2 key Arkansas players ahead of Monday game
Eric Musselman provided a status update for 2 key Razorbacks on Monday.
Musselman announced that starting G Davonte Davis “is taking some time away from basketball”. Davis was averaging 8.5 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.7 assists.
Arkansas will be without veteran guard Devo Davis tonight, per a statement from Eric Musselman: “Davonte Davis is taking some time away from basketball. He has our full support during this time.”

The Razorbacks are losing one guard and gaining another. Nick Smith Jr. is reportedly set to make his Razorback debut on Monday, according to Andrew Hutchinson. Smith was the No. 1 recruit in the 2022 class and is projected to be a lottery pick in the NBA Draft.
Star freshman Nick Smith Jr., a projected lottery pick in the 2023 NBA Draft and the No. 1 recruit in the 2022 class, will make his Arkansas debut tonight vs. Troy, per Chuck Barrett on the UA pregame radio show.

The young phenom will seemingly have a role immediately, considering the Davis news.
