Holding Georgia scoreless in the second half, the No. 2 Alabama Crimson Tide ran past the then-No. 3 Bulldogs, 41-24, on October 17 at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa.

Improving to 4-0 with the victory, ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI) released their updated projections for the remainder of the Crimson Tide’s schedule.

Here is a quick reminder of how FPI is calculated:

“The Football Power Index (FPI) is a measure of team strength meant to be the best predictor of a team’s performance moving forward.

“FPI represents how many points above or below average a team is. Projected results are based on 20,000 simulations of the rest of the season using FPI, results to date, and the remaining schedule.

“Ratings and projections update daily. FPI data from seasons prior to 2019 may not be complete.”

Alabama’s remaining slate:

  • Oct. 24 at Tennessee: 92.5 percent chance to win
  • Oct. 31 vs. Mississippi State: 96 percent
  • Nov. 14 at LSU: 83.1 percent
  • Nov. 21 vs. Kentucky: 92.1 percent
  • Nov. 28 vs. Auburn: 86.6 percent
  • Dec. 5 at Arkansas: 93.5 percent

Feeling confident about the Crimson Tide’s chances to finish the regular season unbeaten, the FPI is giving Nick Saban’s squad a 66.6 percent chance of winning the Southeastern Conference.

Saturday’s clash with the Volunteers, who are coached by a former Saban assistant in Jeremy Pruitt, will kick at 3:30 p.m. ET on the SEC on CBS with Brad Nessler, Gary Danielson, and Jamie Erdahl on the call.
