The ESPN FPI rankings have been updated after Rivalry Week, the final week of the college football regular season. Now with only conference championship games standing between us and the Playoff, teams will be watching closely to see where they end up this postseason.

In the updated ESPN Football Power Index rankings, Texas held onto the top spot following a win over rival Texas A&M. However, former No. 2 team Ohio State dropped. The problem? The Buckeyes only fell 1 spot despite losing at home to an unranked Michigan squad.

Here’s a look at the current FPI top 25, highlighted by Ohio State remaining ahead of key SEC squads like Alabama and Georgia:

  1. Texas
  2. Notre Dame
  3. Ohio State
  4. Alabama
  5. Georgia
  6. Oregon
  7. Tennessee
  8. Ole Miss
  9. Penn State
  10. Indiana
  11. Miami
  12. SMU
  13. Louisville
  14. South Carolina
  15. Clemson
  16. Texas A&M
  17. LSU
  18. USC
  19. Colorado
  20. Mizzou
  21. Tulane
  22. Florida
  23. Iowa State
  24. Iowa
  25. Kansas State

Will the College Football Playoff committee feel the same way about the Buckeyes? Or will Ohio State drop further in the penultimate CFP rankings that come out on Tuesday?

Ten of the 16 SEC teams were among the top 25 squads this week. The only SEC teams not to make the cut were Oklahoma (26), Auburn (29), Arkansas (36), Vanderbilt (39), Kentucky (49) and Mississippi State (69).
