The status quo remains among the top of the SEC power rankings by ESPN after Week 4 of the 2019 college football season, as Alabama still sits atop the pack with Georgia right behind the Crimson Tide.
The Bulldogs are coming off a top-10 win against Notre Dame in Sanford Stadium on Saturday. Kirby Smart’s team outlasted the visiting Fighting Irish, pulling out a 23-17 victory to notch their first big win of the season.
LSU, fresh off a 66-38 pasting of Vanderbilt, is third in the rankings. The Tigers already have a big road victory under their belt, that coming at Texas in Week 2 as they took down the Longhorns 45-38. Behind the Tigers are another set of Tigers in Auburn. Gus Malzahn’s team has likely the most impressive resume in the country so far with wins against Oregon in a neutral site and Saturday’s victory at Texas A&M.
The Florida Gators come in fifth. The Gators host Towson this Saturday before preparing for a top-10 matchup against Auburn in Gainesville next weekend.
