ESPN to sell streaming service that could include college football

As ESPN continues to lose subscribers, CEO Bob Iger recently insinuated that the Worldwide Leader might take a page out of HBO’s book and offer an over the top streaming service.
According to Awful Announcing, the service will most likely include “niche leagues” and will also potentially include some college sports.
It sounds like the streaming service will be different than ESPN’s current app, WatchESPN, which streams live sports and programming across ESPN’s many channels.
It remains to be seen how much ESPN will charge for the service, but without major draws like Monday Night Football and MLB and NBA games, among other top sporting events, one would think it should be affordable.
