ESPN has officially updated its College Football Playoff projections after the wild events of Week 13, which may very well have been the most intriguing week of an already odd season.

One of the biggest headliners was unranked Florida taking down an Ole Miss Rebels team that came into The Swamp with a very strong chance at making it into the College Football Playoff, and doing so in a strong capacity. The path now looks quite different, with doubt rather than optimism shrouding Lane Kiffin’s team.

No. 5 Indiana also doesn’t exactly look like a world-beater the Hoosiers were once hyped up to be by some people, falling 38-15 in unconvincing fashion to the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes on the road.

At the same time, all of this begs the question as to who is the best team in college football and if there is any true powerhouse anymore in the midst of all of the shakeup. It was not long ago Alabama was ranked No. 1 in the nation, the same team that almost boatraced former No. 1 Georgia and the one that also fell unceremoniously to a now unranked Vanderbilt and was hammered on the road by a lowly Oklahoma team this week.

At this point, it’s clear it is anyone’s game. But, for now, here’s a look at where ESPN has each team:

  1. Oregon
  2. Ohio State
  3. Texas
  4. Penn State
  5. Notre Dame
  6. Miami
  7. Georgia
  8. Tennessee
  9. SMU
  10. Boise State
  11. Indiana
  12. Alabama

With only 4 conference champions in the projected top 12, Alabama would be on the outside looking in of the Playoff bracket. ESPN has Arizona State claiming the 12 seed as the Big 12 champion.
