When Ed Orgeron took over as LSU’s interim coach last week, many assumed he was only a short-term answer. But after leading a record offensive performance in his first game Saturday, Orgeron may have a shot at keeping the job, according to ESPN’s Chris Low.
According to Low, the interim coach said he’s improved from his tenure as Ole Miss’ head coach from 2005-07.
Ed Orgeron told me he's night and day different from what he was as Ole Miss' coach: "I pretended to know everything and got in the way."

When a fan asked Low of Orgeron’s chances at keeping the job, the reporter claimed the interim did have a shot as long as the offense continues to show improvement and especially if LSU can beat Alabama.
Chris, do you think he has any shot at getting that job? No doubt he'd recruit it up, but he has a "Black Hat" stigma IMO

He does have a shot if LSU turns it around and continues to look more explosive offensively and especially If they beat Bama.

LSU recorded 634 total yards, the most in ever in an SEC game, during a 42-7 victory over Mississippi State, which was the team’s biggest margin of victory in an SEC game in two years.
Orgeron went 10-25 (3-21 SEC) as Ole Miss’ head coach and 6-2 (6-1 Pac-12) as USC’s interim following Lane Kiffin’s termination during in the 2013 season.
