ESPN’s FPI gives 7 SEC teams a chance to make College Football Playoff after Week 1

ESPN’s latest edition of their Football Power Index included 5 SEC schools with at least a chance of winning a national championship and 7 teams with a chance to make the College Football Playoff.
Here are the teams that the list deemed as contenders to earn 1 of the 4 Playoff spots:
- Alabama — 85.1%
- Georgia — 44.4%
- Texas A&M — 15.7%
- Florida — 8.4%
- Auburn — 4.1%
- LSU — . 2%
- Ole Miss — .1%
No other SEC team was given a chance to make the Playoff after Week 1. Obviously, that could change if a team like Kentucky or another 1-0 team goes on a run in the coming weeks.
The biggest takeaway, though? Alabama seems to already be a near lock to make the Playoff if the Tide continue to roll.
