“The Third Saturday in October,” the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide defeated Tennessee, 35-13, on October 19 at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa.
Improving to 7-0, all of Alabama’s preseason goals remain on the table. There was some bad news for the Tide in their victory over the Volunteers, however, suffering a sprained ankle, junior quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was forced to leave the game and has been ruled out of Saturday’s contest with Arkansas. Prior to exiting, Tagovailoa was 11-12 for 155 yards and an interception.
Stepping in for the Heisman Trophy candidate, redshirt sophomore Mac Jones finished 6-11 for 72 yards. Doing the majority of the heavy lifting, junior tailback Najee Harris led the way with 105 yards and two scores.
While Arkansas likely won’t be too difficult of a task, ESPN’s FPI updated their game-by-game win probabilities for the No. 1 Tide.
Here are how Alabama’s odds stack up:
- Oct. 26 vs. Arkansas (98.9 percent)
- Nov. 9 vs. No. 2 LSU (71 percent)
- Nov. 16 at Mississippi State (90.6 percent)
- Nov. 23 vs. Western Carolina (100 percent)
- Nov. 30 at No. 9 Auburn (64 percent)
