Their first victory over Alabama since 2011, the No. 2 LSU Tigers topped the No. 3 Crimson Tide on Saturday in Tuscaloosa, 46-41.
A career day, junior tailback Clyde Edwards-Helaire led the way for Ed Orgeron’s team with 180 yards and three touchdowns on 29 touches.
Continuing his Heisman Trophy campaign, redshirt senior quarterback Joe Burrow hit on 31-39 passes for 393 yards and three scores. Sophomore Ja’Marr Chase was his favorite target in this one, catching six passes for 140 yards.
Now just three wins away from a perfect regular season, ESPN’s Football Power Index released their updated odds for LSU’s remaining schedule on Sunday:
- Nov. 16 at Ole Miss (90.7 percent)
- Nov. 23 vs. Arkansas (98.7 percent)
- Nov. 30 vs. Texas A&M (86.2 percent)
Here’s a brief explanation of how FPI works:
The Football Power Index (FPI) is a measure of team strength meant to be the best predictor of a team’s performance moving forward. FPI represents how many points above or below average a team is. Projected results are based on 10,000 simulations of the rest of the season using FPI, results to date and the remaining schedule. Ratings and projections update daily.
Their second straight road game, LSU’s trip to Oxford on Saturday will kick at 7:00PM ET on ESPN.
