ESPN’s Football Power Index has a prediction for the Texas Bowl matchup between LSU and Baylor.

FPI has the Tigers as marginal favorites, giving then a 60% chance to win the game over Dave Aranda and the Bears.

LSU is hoping to end the season on a high note after falling short of expectations in 2024. The Tigers went 8-4 during the regular season as a 3-game skid during the middle of the year tanked any hope of reaching the College Football Playoff.

Baylor got off to a relatively slow start this season but ended up with an 8-4 season. The Bears went 6-3 in conference play as they navigated a highly-competitive Big 12 slate.

LSU fans will of course be familiar with Aranda, who served as Ed Orgeron’s defensive coordinator in Baton Rouge from 2016-19. He’s been Baylor’s head coach since the 2020 campaign.

LSU is 8-3 all-time against Baylor, although this will be the first meeting for these programs since 1985. Kickoff for this game is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on New Year’s Eve.
