ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI) predicts the outcome of each college football game ahead of every weekend. With Week 12 behind us, we now move on to Week 12 and the model’s predictions are updated.

One of the SEC matchups this weekend is Alabama at Oklahoma. The Crimson Tide enter the matchup with an 8-2 record while the Sooners have struggled to a 5-5 mark. The model sees the Crimson Tide as a big favorite in this game, giving the team an 81.5% chance to win.

Kalen DeBoer’s team had a glorified bye week in Week 12 as they throttled FCS opponent Mercer. UA has now won 3 in a row after dropping a game to Tennessee back in October. That loss to Tennessee, paired with a loss to Vanderbilt, are the only blemishes on the Tide’s resume.

The Sooners, meanwhile, have had a rough season. Entering Week 13, the Sooners are 1-4 in their last 5 games. The team had a bye in Week 12, so they should be well-rested as the Tide come to town.

This is a game the Tide cannot afford to overlook. FPI gives Alabama the best chance to win the SEC, but a loss here would kill those hopes. After this game, the Tide will end the regular season with the Iron Bowl against Auburn.

Alabama and Oklahoma have faced off 6 times in history with the Sooners winning 3 of those. The last time these historic powers battled was in the 2018 Capital One Orange Bowl. These new SEC foes will kick off from Memorial Stadium on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET.
