Shane Beamer’s South Carolina Gamecocks are fresh off a bye week and are looking to get back to .500 on the season. South Carolina has endured one of the more difficult schedules in the country, with the team’s three losses coming to North Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee. The Gamecocks did take down Mississippi State 37-30 to pick up their lone conference win of the season, and a return home to the friendly confines of Williams-Brice Stadium will be a welcomed one.

Florida withstood a rough performance against Utah in the opener to rebound in recent weeks. The Gators took down then-No. 11 Tennessee in a dominant 29-16 showing in Week 3. Billy Napier’s bunch did get exposed by Kentucky in Week 5, as Ray Davis ran for 280 yards and 3 TDs, but they bounced back to cruise to a 38-14 win over Vanderbilt last weekend.

With Florida sitting at 2-1 in SEC play and South Carolina at 1-2, this game carries major SEC East implications and is a pivotal swing game for two coaches who desperately need to win.

ESPN’s Football Power Index gives South Carolina a 57.7% chance to take down Florida on Saturday in Columbia.

Last year, Florida dismantled SC by a score of 38-6, upsetting the then-No. 23 Gamecocks before falling in its last two games.

The matchup between the Gators and Gamecocks will take place at 3:30 ET on the SEC Network on Saturday.
