ESPN’s FPI predicts the outcome of Texas-Vanderbilt ranked showdown

Texas is looking to bounce back to its 1st loss of the season after falling to Georgia, 30-15 on Saturday night. The No. 5 Longhorns have a tougher-than-expected game on the schedule as they travel to Nashville to take on the red-hot No. 25 Vanderbilt Commodores.
And, naturally, ESPN’s Football Power Index is weighing in with what it thinks will happen. Despite the loss to Georgia, the FPI is giving the Longhorns a 90.6% chance to win this game. That means ESPN doesn’t think the Commodores have much of a chance to win at home at just 9.4%.
The SEC opponents will collide in a 4:15 p.m. ET kickoff from Firstbank Stadium with the game airing on SEC Network.
The Longhorns looked like the best team in the country for much of the year, but they were dominated by the Bulldogs for much of the game. The offensive line was looked at as the best unit in the country, but they were destroyed by the Georgia defensive line.

Texas switched quarterbacks multiple times in the game against Georgia, but Quinn Ewers was able to finish the contest.
Vanderbilt captured the attention of the college football world against Alabama a few weeks ago, getting the signature win that Clark Lea needed. It hasn’t always been smooth sailing, but the Commodores are doing just enough to get wins.
Vanderbilt last week defeated Ball State by only a score of 24-14, and the game was tied at the end of the 3rd quarter.
