ESPN’s Football Power Index gives Alabama a 62.5% chance of coming out on top when it squares off with LSU on Saturday. With both teams coming off a bye week and each having chances to qualify for the SEC Championship Game, a lot is on the line yet again in this rivalry bout.

LSU has experienced its fair share of bumps in the road this season, with the Tigers being outscored 31-7 in the second half of the Florida State game and letting Ole Miss rack up 706 total yards in its 55-49 victory over Brian Kelly’s bunch. But, since that loss, LSU has ripped off three straight double-digit wins and quarterback Jayden Daniels has continued to emerge as a Heisman contender. The Tiger defense looked much improved against Auburn and Army, but it will face a different kind of test in Tuscaloosa.

The Crimson Tide have not had a typical season under Nick Saban, but they still find themselves right in the thick of things in the College Football Playoff hunt. Quarterback Jalen Milroe has improved as this season has gone on, and Jermaine Burton has emerged as a reliable target for him out wide. In its last outing, Alabama rallied from down 20-7 against Tennessee to score the final 27 points of the game in a statement victory.

The matchup between the Bayou Bengals and Crimson Tide will take place at 7:45 ET on CBS.
