ESPN’s Mel Kiper includes SEC star in tie for QB1 ranking for 2025 NFL Draft
Mel Kiper thinks the world of Georgia star quarterback Carson Beck, so much so that the ESPN draft analyst has ranked the senior as his co-top quarterback for next spring’s NFL Draft.
On ESPN’s ‘Get Up’ on Wednesday morning, Kiper put Beck in a tie with Colorado signal-caller Shedeur Sanders for the No. 1 spot in the quarterback rankings for the 2025 NFL Draft class.
“He developed. He watched. He sat. He learned,” Kiper said about Beck, who sat behind Stetson Bennett before getting his turn to lead the Bulldogs offense. “He’s only 21 years of age, doesn’t turn 22 until November. He’s off to a good start (this season), with that strong second half against Clemson.”

Beck threw for 3,941 yards last season in his 1st year as the starting quarterback for the Bulldogs, tossing 24 touchdowns and just 6 interceptions. Beck fell short in his quest to lead the Bulldogs to their 3rd straight national title, as Georgia fell to Alabama in the SEC Championship Game.
Beck helped get top-ranked Georgia started on the right foot last Saturday, throwing for 278 yards and 2 touchdowns with 0 interceptions to lead the Bulldogs to a 34-3 shellacking of Clemson in Atlanta.
Beck and the Bulldogs face Tennessee Tech this Saturday in Georgia’s home opener.
