Featuring five teams in the top-10 of the latest AP Poll, the SEC has positioned itself well early in the 2019 season.

Led by Alabama at No. 2, the SEC’s other ranked programs are: No. 3 Georgia, No. 4 LSU, No. 7 Auburn, No. 9 Florida and No. 23 Texas A&M.

Based on this success, ESPN’s Playoff Predictor is high on the conference’s odds of sending two or more teams to the College Football Playoff. Brandon Zimmerman of the SEC Network shared how good things are looking for the SEC’s top programs:

While we have never seen one conference represented by three teams in the CFP era, the SEC has sent two teams to the dance before – Alabama and Georgia in 2017.

Part of the SEC on CBS, the Tide hosts Ole Miss on Saturday at 3:30PM ET. Georgia and LSU are both idle and will be back in action on October 5.

Looking ahead, Alabama and LSU play in Tuscaloosa on November 9. The Bulldogs avoided both the Tide and LSU in SEC crossover play.
