LSU suffered the biggest upset of the weekend as many were watching when the then No. 5-ranked Tigers lost to Wisconsin, 16-14. As if people weren’t questioning LSU quarterback Brandon Harris’ play before, they certainly are now.
Earlier today on ESPN’s “Russillo & Kanell”, Todd McShay talked about the Tigers’ quarterback situation.
Todd McShay: "I would move on from Harris. This is a great week to do it vs. JSU. Danny Etling is the backup, see what he can do." #LSU

Todd McShay: "I think there were 6-7 throws that you just have to make or put your WR in the position to make that Harris did not make" #LSU

Todd McShay: "You are just missing so many opportunities that it's worth a shot to look at another quarterback." #LSU

Todd McShay: "I think they are so concerned with getting Harris happy and in rhythm, that they are getting away from what they need to do."

McShay is obviously done with figuring out if Harris can work for LSU, and understandably so. Against Wisconsin, Harris completed 12-of-21 passes for just 131 yards and one touchdown. Harris also threw two interceptions, and the last one deep in the fourth quarter cost the Tigers the game.
McShay also talked about trying backup quarterback Danny Etling. Etling has the talent, as he is a former four-star recruit who committed to Purdue in the class of 2012. He then transferred to LSU on June 22, 2015.
Against its next opponent, Jacksonville State, the Tigers could see what Etling brings to the table. LSU certainly has the talent around any quarterback they decide to throw in there, as Jacksonville State competes in the FCS.
Regardless of who the signal caller is, something has to change for the now No. 21-ranked Tigers.
