Evan McPherson matches Adam Vinatieri’s career record with incredible rookie postseason

Evan McPherson has had a special season, and in some cases, it’s historic.
After McPherson hit the game-winning field goal on Sunday to lift the Cincinnati Bengals to a 27-24 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, the former Florida kicker in his rookie season matched Adam Vinatieri’s career mark with 3 postseason games with at least 4 field goals made.
McPherson kicked a 31-yard field goal with 9:22 left in overtime to help the Bengals erase an 18-point deficit, and for the game, McPherson hit field goals of 32, 31, 52 and 31 yards.

McPherson remains perfect through the AFC playoffs, and has made 12 consecutive field-goal attempts.
McPherson, the Bengals’ 22-year-old fifth-round pick (149th overall) out of Florida, made a 52-yard field goal as time expired for a 19-16 road win over the top-seeded Titans last week in the divisional round.
McPherson has been confident all postseason, including last week when he told backup QB Brandon Allen as he went out to kick the game-winning field goal ahead of his warmup, he said, “Ah, looks like we’re going to the AFC Championship.”
