Miami Dolphins running back Kenyan Drake ran in a 12-yard touchdown in the first quarter of Thursday Night Football against the Houston Texans, and it prompted protests from fantasy owners and fans about why the former Alabama running back doesn’t get the bulk of the carries for the Dolphins.
Going into the Texans game, Drake only had 181 yards and a touchdown on 33 carries, as well as 125 receiving yards and a touchdown. The Dolphins, however, have divided the running back workload between Drake and 35-year-old Frank Gore.
The former Alabama ball-carrier is making a strong case for more carries.
Here is Drake’s score from Thursday night.

Here’s what fans are saying on Twitter:
RB Kenyan Drake in last 5 1/2 quarters: 9 carries, 106 yds, 11.8 YPC, 2 TDs. And Frank Gore is the one on the field.

I just want to know what Kenyan Drake said about Adam Gase’s family to warrant such unfair usage. #FreeDrake

Drake’s performance especially has fans wondering why Miami head coach Adam Gase does not rely on his playmaker with Brock Osweiler at quarterback.
Why does Kenyan Drake not get the ball more? Especially, with Brock Osweiler at QB..

Cant wait for Kenyan Drake to leave and play under a competent regime so he can emerge as the star that he is.

Only somebody as dumb as an NFL coach would think it’s smart to give Frank Gore more snaps than Kenyan Drake
— Darth Fader (@Idontgamble_) October 26, 2018
the good thing for the Texans is that Adam gase is a complete moron and probably won’t let Kenyan Drake ever touch the ball again

Drake was never the lead back at Alabama, playing behind current and former NFL payers TJ Yeldon, Eddie Lacy, and Derrick Henry. Drake also dealt with plenty of injuries during his time in Tuscaloosa. It might be time for him to finally be a lead back.
We’ll see if Thursday night’s performance against the Texans could propel Drake into a bigger role.
