Alabama did not get the postseason assignment it was hoping for, and it is playing poorly to begin that game. For opposing fans and many media members, that makes the Crimson Tide an easy target for social media roasting.

The college football world is tuned into the ReliaQuest Bowl on Tuesday afternoon. Alabama had a disastrous start, particularly on offense. The Crimson Tide turned the ball over on downs and then the next 3 offensive possessions went fumble-interception-fumble. Considering the situation, UA was fortunate to keep it 16-0, as Michigan had multiple red zone opportunities but only scored 1 touchdown.

Alabama entered the ReliaQuest Bowl as a heavy favorite with the ESPN Bet line closing at 16.5 points. The Crimson Tide went 9-3 and lobbied that that record was stronger than teams that made the College Football Playoff with fewer losses but facing weaker schedules. Michigan, meanwhile, went 7-5, taking a step back after winning the CFP National Championship.

Alabama’s rough start gave fans and media members plenty of material to work with. Here’s a small sample of what has been posted:

There’s plenty of time left for Alabama to come back, but it’s currently a 16-0 game in the 2nd quarter. The game is airing on ESPN.
