Fans, media react to favorable Alabama, LSU schedules, have sympathy for Missouri
By SDS Staff

As predicted, SEC fans had a wide range of reactions to the new 10-game, conference-only schedule for the 2020 season. With 8 conference games already every team’s schedule, it meant 2 new opponents. The 2 new games were revealed live on the SEC Network on Friday afternoon.
Two of the most talked-about teams on social media were Alabama and LSU. The Crimson Tide added a home game against Kentucky and a road game at Missouri. The Bayou Bengals added a home game against Missouri and a road game at Vanderbilt. Adding 3 SEC East teams who are not considered contenders for the 2020 division title predictably led to claims that the conference was protecting its top teams, as you can see in the tweets below.
Very cool that the SEC schedule makers gave LSU and Alabama the easiest schedules. They deserve a break.

Alabama and LSU BOTH getting Missouri is the least surprising thing ever. LSU also gets Vanderbilt. Gotta protect your horses, SEC

Additionally, Missouri’s rough draw of adding Alabama and defending national champion LSU to its schedule was also a popular topic with many expressing sympathy for Eli Drinkwitz’s squad.

#Mizzou will travel to LSU and host Alabama. Glad Eli Drinkwitz has a good sense of humor. Mercy.
