The “SEC bias” narrative has been circulating the media world for quite a while now. The College Football Playoff committee has released their first rankings, and it doesn’t exactly have any one backing off of the SEC bias claims. Here is what twitter thinks about the perceived bias:

Wait they don’t evaluate conferences?? So you’re saying objectively the SEC is still the best?? #SECbias

How can anyone say there’s #SECbias with ONLY 3 spots taken by the #SEC in the Top 4?
— Andrew_M (@AndrewMire18) October 28, 2014
What did we learn from #CFPlayoff poll? If the SEC invites you to join the league, you leave your league and you join. #SECbias

Everyone complaining about SEC bias in the playoff selection committee should go check out the BCS computer polls. 6 top 8 teams.

The bias towards the SEC is more than annoying, it's bad for football. There isn't a single sport more corrupt than college football.
— Ute Pilot #BeatASU (@ute_pilot) October 28, 2014
Is it SEC bias, or has the league shown they're the best in recent years? It's not SEC bias just bc you're tired of their dominance.
— ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (@MykeWright4) October 29, 2014
All these other conferences scared to play the best SEC teams but have the same record and be ahead of them. ?☕️ #SECbias
— Alston Geers (@Geers_ofWar) October 29, 2014
The real point here is the committee has just shown us they have a pre-determined bias based on a perceived “pedigree” of SEC superiority…

Worked for the internet in Los Angeles before being lured back to Florida by SEC football and the promise of a bourbon bar. When he's not internetting or watching football, he's probably out giving himself 4-footers on the golf course.
